NewSigma publishes platform-generated News and current-affairs content to help people understand topics that matter to them. This page explains the broad standards behind that content. It is intended to complement, not replace, the Terms of Service and other applicable NewSigma policies.
1. What We Publish
NewSigma News may include General News and IAS News. Depending on the content and feature, News may include summaries, current-affairs coverage, background information, analysis and educational material.
IAS-related material is provided for general information and educational purposes. It is not professional, legal, financial, investment, medical or other professional advice and does not guarantee any examination result, rank, selection or other outcome.
2. Sources and Preparation
News content may be based wholly or partly on third-party sources. Third-party reporting may later be corrected, updated, withdrawn or become unavailable.
NewSigma may prepare News content using automated or machine-assisted systems and may review content through editorial processes. The exact workflow may vary by content type and Platform feature.
3. Accuracy and Timeliness
NewSigma strives to provide useful, timely and accurate information. However, News may not always be complete, current, accurate, error-free or continuously available, particularly where underlying information changes after publication.
For important facts, legal developments, public announcements and other consequential matters, users should verify information against relevant official or authoritative sources.
4. Summaries and Editorial Presentation
NewSigma may summarise and present information in a way designed to make complex or developing topics easier to understand. A summary may not contain every detail from the underlying source. Users should consult the original source when the full context, wording or underlying evidence matters.
NewSigma may also present different levels of depth so that readers can choose a shorter overview or more detailed treatment of a topic.
5. AI and Machine-Assisted Systems
NewSigma may use automated, machine-assisted or other computational systems in the preparation, organisation, recommendation or review of News. These systems can make mistakes.
Where applicable to a technology or feature and required by law, NewSigma may use disclosure, labelling, provenance or other safeguards for synthetically generated information.
6. Corrections and Updates
News can change as new information becomes available. Where NewSigma identifies a material error, outdated information or other issue, it may update, correct, label or otherwise revise the relevant News content.
Readers who believe a News item contains an error can contact support@newsigma.in and provide the News item, the information they believe is incorrect and supporting evidence where available.
7. News Is Not the Same as User Content
News is platform-generated content. Sigma is primarily user-generated content. A Sigma post may refer to a News item through Context, but Context does not turn a meme into NewSigma editorial reporting and should not be used to create a false impression.
8. Third-Party Sources and External Links
NewSigma may link to, reference, summarise or integrate third-party websites, services or content. NewSigma does not control independent third parties and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices, terms or activities.
9. Community Feedback
NewSigma may receive feedback, correction requests and reports from users. Such feedback can help identify issues or new information, but submission of a report does not guarantee a particular editorial outcome or publication decision.
10. Editorial Standards and Platform Policies
News content and the surrounding Platform remain subject to the Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy, Grievance Redressal Policy and applicable law. Where a statutory requirement differs from a NewSigma policy, the applicable law will prevail.
