Creator Reward Guidelines

Newsigma’s creator programme rewards genuine creativity: memes, explainers, and remixes that make the news travel further. These Guidelines explain who can participate, how rewards are earned and paid, and what disqualifies content or creators. They form part of our Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility

• You must have a Newsigma account in good standing (no active strikes or suspensions).
• You must be at least 18 years old to receive monetary payouts. Creators aged 13–17 may earn non-monetary rewards (badges, merchandise) with parental consent.
• Monetary payouts require completion of identity verification, including a valid PAN and bank account or UPI details held in your own name, and (where applicable) tax declarations.
• Residents of India only, unless otherwise announced for specific programmes.

2. How rewards are earned

Rewards are performance-based. The Platform measures genuine engagement with your content, including:

• Reach: unique viewers of your content;
• Engagement: reactions, shares, and meaningful interactions;
• Consistency: regular publishing over the payout period;
• Contests: placement in themed contests and campaigns announced in-app.

The precise formula, rates, and any minimum thresholds for a payout period are published in-app before the period begins and may change from period to period. Where a change is made, it applies prospectively only.

3. What is not rewarded

• Content that violates the Community Guidelines or is removed by moderation;
• Content with engagement generated by bots, purchased interactions, engagement pods, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour;
• Content that is not your own original work or that infringes third-party rights;
• Duplicate or near-duplicate reposts of your own or others’ content;
• Content deliberately mislinked to unrelated news stories.

4. Payouts

• Reward balances are calculated monthly and displayed in your in-app creator dashboard.
• Payouts are processed within 15 working days of the end of each payout period, to your verified bank account or UPI ID.
• A minimum balance of [minimum payout amount, e.g. ₹500] is required for a payout; smaller balances roll over to the next period.
• Taxes: payouts are subject to applicable Indian tax law, including TDS where required. You are responsible for reporting reward income in your tax filings.
• Non-monetary rewards (merchandise, badges, event access) are as described in the specific campaign and are not exchangeable for cash.

5. Fraud, clawbacks, and disqualification

• We may withhold, adjust, or reclaim rewards attributable to fraudulent, manipulated, or policy-violating activity, including after payout.
• Attempting to game reward metrics — including with multiple accounts — results in forfeiture of pending rewards and removal from the programme, and may lead to account termination.
• Decisions about reward eligibility are made by Newsigma based on Platform data. You can raise a dispute through the grievance process within 30 days of the relevant payout date.

6. Relationship

Participation in the programme does not create an employment, agency, or partnership relationship between you and Newsigma. Rewards are programme benefits, not wages or a guaranteed income.

7. Changes and discontinuation

We may modify or discontinue the programme or any campaign with reasonable notice in-app. Rewards already earned under the published rules of a completed period will be honoured.
